This Rezoning proposal is unnecessary, as the AADL has NO business partnering with a private entity. I oppose this rezoning, because it is a prelude to the AADL and City Council attempting to undo the will of the people, who voted in 2018 to keep the area over the Library Lane underground parking structure as Public Park Land in perpetuity. The City plans to sell the air rights over the Library Lane parking structure to the Library for $1, who will then be searching for a private partner to develop the designated park land with a high-rise building.
