This item should be removed from consent agenda to be discussed separately, then denied.
1% for Art program was defeated at ballot box, people of Ann Arbor DO NOT want 1% of capital project costs to be spent on "art enhancements". We voted "NO" on 1% For Art.
So why is public art commission sending a list based on CIP detailing how much 1% of each project is & that it will be spent on art? What part of NO do you not understand & why are you trying to subvert our democracy? Criminal behavior on part of anyone who continues to vote for this. Approval of this document is outside of normal budget process, which is improper. The list contains many projects that are not funded, nor are they legitimate projects. Wally stations at 2 locations? Train Station at Fuller Park? A number of unnamed DDA Streetscape improvement projectswith no dollar value assigned? You cannot approve spending on open-ended projects like this, and you cannot approve any spending related to 1% for Art.
