I am in strong support of the City Council's resolution to endorse TheRide's alternative, pro-transit plan for the US-23 Corridor Project. Adding lanes usually leads to even more traffic, a well-documented phenomenon known as induced demand. TheRide's idea to utilize park-and-rides and coach buses could lead to fewer cars, less traffic, reduced emissions, and safer, fairer travel for everyone.
