- 1680 Dhu Varren Road Annexation of 58.868 acres
- 2670 Pontiac Trail Annexation of 1.859 acres
- 2672 Pontiac Trail Annexation of 1.256 acres
- 2678 Pontiac Trail Annexation of 1.248 acres
- 2682 Pontiac Trail Annexation of 1.248 acres
Staff Recommendation: Approval
I am concerned about this new development for 2 reasons and have questions related to each.
First, given the multiple new housing developments recently built and currently under construction in the same location (north Pontiac Trail and Dhu Varen Road), what is the need for even more housing? And what will the impact of so many new residences have on traffic and other services (e.g., schools, parks) in this part of Ann Arbor?
[Current *new* housing: Pulte housing on Pontiac Trail; the One multi-family development on Pontiac Trail; currently under construction development across from new Pulte houses on Pontiac Trail; new large development of condos and townhouses at corner of Dhu Varen and Nixon Roads.]
Second, the area for proposed development is currently full of wildlife, particularly many species of birds (also deer, possum, skunk, squirrels). This is one of last swaths of forest left given all the development. Many of these birds will be lost by destroying their habitat.
