Jeff Hayner continues to be an embarrassment to our City, and is deserving of not just reprimand, but removal from Council, in my opinion. In addition to quoting slurs denigrating Blacks and LGBTQ persons, Mr Hayner denigrates local journalists in certain social media venues such as Facebook. Mr Hayner blocks constituents from seeing his social media posts, many of which deal with and refer to City matters which he votes on. Blocking of constituents should be investigated by the City Attorney and the City Administrator. Jeff Hayner should be counseled that this is not legal and could open the City to lawsuits: https://www.aclu.org/blog/free-speech/internet-speech/court-rules-public-officials-cant-block-critics-facebook
I filed a complaint with Michigan ACLU regarding Mr Hayner's blocking constituent criticism and his allegations that I somehow "threatened" him during public commentary, but have not heard back. I may need to initiate suit against Mr Hayner for his specious allegations.
