DC-6 21-0779 Resolution to Improve Council Effectiveness, Performance and Communications for Professional Services in the Amount of $20,000 (8 Votes Required)
City Council's persistent inability to effectively resolve internal conflicts absolutely warrants outside professional guidance, which is why I am generally for this resolution. In my opinion, City Council should not only pursue this, but also undergo collective sensitivity training and social media awareness training.
On that note, in the legislation text a resolved clause states the improvement plan will "incorporate a minimum of two months of facilitation/coaching at Council meetings and at Administrative Committee meetings." To me, this suggests that an outside professional would be sitting in on Council meetings guiding the discourse. I am looking forward to hearing clarification on this resolution at the next City Council meeting.
