PH-3 20-1779 An Ordinance to Amend Chapter 55 (Unified Development Code), Zoning of 0.9 Acre from P (Parking) to C3 (Fringe Commercial), 2111 Packard Street (CPC Recommendation: Approval - 7 Yeas and 0 Nays) (ORD-20-37)
I do not support the Ordinance No. ORD-20-37-Amendment to Chapter 55 (Unified Development Code), rezoning of 0.9 Acre from P(Parking) to C3 (Fringe Commercial), 2111 Packard Street. The proposed developments lack of parking for both residence and the retail workers and customers. The lack of a proper loading zone and location to store snow from the parking lot. And the front set back being so close to the street will amplify street noise to the neighbors. It seems like another out of state developer trying to push over an over zealous project on our neighborhood. This project would be better suited for the old Lucky's grocery location.
To mitigate climate change, cities like Ann Arbor with job growth need housing growth to match, so any new housing units are welcome. We need to shift more land from housing cars to housing people.
I am opposed to the proposed Ordinance No. ORD-20-37-Amendment to Chapter 55 (Unified Development Code), rezoning of 0.9 Acre from P(Parking) to C3 (Fringe Commercial), 2111 Packard Street. We have already had problems stemming from the redevelopment of The Georgetown Mall to The George. I am concerned there will be problems with this redevelopment.

The additional retail will be great too.
