DB-1 20-1830 Resolution to Approve the Distribution of the Draft Plan, Ann Arbor Moving Together Towards Vision Zero - City of Ann Arbor Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CPC Recommendation: Approved - 6 Ayes and 0 Nays)
Hello, Council Members. Before moving forward with community engagement on this detailed plan, there are two inaccuracies that I believe should be fixed in advance:
1. On p. 114 in the discussion of 20-minute neighborhoods, the U-M and Golf and Outing courses are marked as parks. Since they are neither open to the public for recreation nor permit pedestrian traffic through them, they should not be marked as parks. For the general public, as part of the Stadium/State/Eisenhower/Main superblock, they are barriers rather than enablers of 20-minute neighborhoods.
2. On p. 64 there is an existing bike route marked on Stadium between Main and 7th. While I believe there is a sharrow there, there is no marked bike lane and I don't believe it should be considered an existing bike route. I am always frightened on my bike there.
